Contact Improvisation on Holding, Hugging & Squeezing
In this Contact Improvisation workshop we will explore deep touch techniques, including holding, hugging and squeezing and what they offer in movement and expansion into space. We will begin with bodywork.
Coming from lightness we will slowly pour weight through the layers of skin, connective tissue, fat, muscle and bone. Through this pouring we will get to know another structure and where we can safely deepen our touch and give ourselves fully. As we build a strong physical connection with ourselves and a partner, we will play with added possibilities of squeezing and moving with a contained sense of weight. This will lead us into more dynamic dancing including lifting and shifting one another through space.
